    Why I added this to the catalog

    Why I Created HYDRATANT•K

    Fifteen years ago, I came across an article that completely changed the way I thought about skincare.

    The article discussed a growing global vitamin D deficiency and the health concerns associated with it. What caught my attention was the connection between skin and vitamin D production, particularly in women with deeper skin tones. Melanin naturally protects the skin from the sun, but it can also reduce the skin's ability to produce vitamin D from sunlight. It made me wonder: if vitamin D deficiency is affecting the body, what impact could it be having on the skin itself?

    As an esthetician, I couldn't stop thinking about it.

    I began researching everything I could find about vitamin D3, skin health, cellular function, and topical delivery systems. I spoke with physicians, formulators, and researchers from California to Colorado, searching for answers. One thing became very clear: vitamin D3 (cholecalciferol) is fat-soluble and performs best when delivered in an oil-based vehicle.

    That discovery became the spark that eventually led to the creation of TINA•K Skin.

    HYDRATANT•K was the very first product I developed and remains the hero product of our entire collection. It combines topical cholecalciferol (vitamin D3) with our proprietary peptide technology designed to help maximize the skin's ability to utilize vitamin D and support a healthy, resilient-looking complexion.

    Every other formula in the TINA•K Skin collection was developed with this same philosophy in mind: create an environment where the skin can thrive, repair, and function at its highest potential.

    What has been most exciting is witnessing the long-term results.

    All Tina K skincare products have a 12-month shelf life after opening, also known as the Period After Opening (PAO). This standard applies across our entire skincare system.

    After 12 months, the formula may still be enjoyable to use, but the potency and efficacy of the active ingredients can begin to decline. For best results and optimal performance, we recommend using your product within this one-year window after opening.
